I have been retired for twelve years and I am low income. However, my daughter and I made a temporary guardianship a couple of years ago of my oldest grandson and the grandson in the middle who is 14; the oldest is 19.
My daughter has the youngest grandson who is turning 12, and she travels to Faires with her son and partner where they barter and sell things. I see them every six months. So I receive TANF money to help with the 14 year old which helps a lot.
My 19 year old tells me he has social anxiety and won't ever leave the house even to go to see a doctor. I have been trying to get him to go to college and just do online classes or get some kind of work where he can work from home using his computer (which he is on every day playing video games with his friends or whatever).
His mom told me to begin documenting about him every day. I do think he has some mental illness as well as just plain lazy.
People tell me to just kick him out but I cannot do that. I wonder if a counselor would come to the house to see him. He refuses many of my suggestions.
Does anyone have any ideas?
He does not drive, he is like a hermit.
