Feeling a Spring Renewal Today!

by Wendy, Retirement Enthusiast/Coach

A few days ago, a coaching client asked me if *I* was stuck?

He asked Me!

Yes, Yes, I am, or maybe was...

Something happened to me in that maybe 3-minute conversation. He told me to fly like a bird! Those are the only words I really remember -- and yet, I chose to change feeling stuck at that moment.

It IS a choice, but sometimes you need to be called out. You might need awareness that you are stuck!

Perhaps you've also wondered about me lately?
I bet you did if you are a regular reader!

All I can say is that, like everyone else on the planet, we have good times and not-so-good times... and despite having a good life, the near-nothingness was bringing me down.

For the third morning, I am working on my site and classes! Woot!

Yes, 3 days is too short to tell if this will stick, however, SPRING is my season! I retired mid-April 2010 after considering retirement for over five years. I saw the blooming trees and retired with two-weeks notice and I was done.

Yes, blooming trees on Cass Avenue in Mt. Clemens, Michigan told me "it's time!"
Don't waste another spring or summer, move forward. And I did.

I Love the Renewal of Spring! Tiny plants rearing their little green heads all over my yard! Sunshine on my face once again!

Today, I jumped out of bed (literally) using the
Mel Robbin's 5-4-3-2-1 method. Woo Hoo!
-- and --
My head burst into song: "Ohh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day!"

Thank goodness it was in my head or my husband might have thought I'd flipped!

I am blessed.

I pray you are too!

p.s. A Very Special Thank You to a Retired Teacher from California --
you know who you are. You have awakened me! Woot!

Getting back in the habit
by: Irwin

Your recent posts are really hitting home here.

I too have had good days and bad days and also know what I must do to change.

Now comes the hard part - doing it and sticking with it.

It is amazing how much we say to ourselves that we know we must change and yet at times go back to the old ways for whatever reason(s).

I have two things (well probably more) but two things I want to change/do and I need to get off my duff and do it - I ain't getting any younger.

Thanks for the swift kick in the butt. I'll keep you posted as to my progress.

Wendy: Go Irwin! You always make things happen... and you will again! AND YES, actually doing what you intend to do is the hard part, so much more easier to say "tomorrow"! :)

Distress brings Inspiration
by: Michael - Sunny and Warm Venice Florida

It is ok to feel stuck, uncertain, burned-out. Days and sometimes weeks where you are tired of everything and everyone around you seems annoying.

Sometimes, I even annoy myself!
Wendy: Oh, I love that -- and Yes, I annoy myself too! :)

I think it is one aspect of being human.

I love architecture and designing homes and structures. I have found my greatest design inspiration comes are periods of great distress.

My best bicycle rides are sometimes on the days I feel the worst.

I think a great mantra could be "I'm tired of all of this, let me set my sights on some new things."
