Like many of you, I wondered for a while what to do with myself when I retired. Then, I recalled that I had made a bucket-list in the years leading up to my retirement.

Number 1 on that list was to learn to play drums. That was something that I had always wanted to do. So, I bought a set of drums and began watching YouTube videos (where you will find hundreds of free lessons.) I did consider taking one on one lessons but discovered that many instructors do not like to take on "older students" for the drums. It is hard to learn limb independence when you get older. Point taken and I am progressing on my own.

I had many other mundane items on my bucket list but the one that kept me awake at night was writing a novel. I mentioned it to a few friends and they just laughed. When I told them it would be a "romantic/action/adventure novel" well, they just roared.

That was it-I was going to write that novel...at age 67. It took me over one year, sometimes working 10 hour days. I knew that it would have to be a self-published book for which Amazon is really the best option.

It will be very different from probably most if not all romance novels you have read...ever. So, a sappy love-story it is not.
