Retired and Local Newspaper volunteer

Our local newspaper was sold to a young man several years ago and he needed volunteer help until he could get the circulation built up and show a profit.

Since I had retired from a law office recently, I decided I could help him out by proofreading for him. Working at a law office was a good background for picking out mistakes in grammar and spelling.

This was just a weekly newspaper so he only needed help once or twice a week. I would also answer the phone and do anything else that was necessary while I was there.

Once he was able to hire a full time staff, he no longer needed my services.
