For the best part of 25+ years I was a school bus driver. I took my training in Ontario, then drove there, in Nova Scotia, and worked at in Alberta, until last year when I was forced to take retirement.
I loved every minute of driving as well as loving every child that came through my doors. I always greeted them with a cheery good morning, and usually before the end of the school year, they were answering me, even if it was a half asleep response.
I got to know a lot of parents over the years and all but a very few were cooperative and helpful.
I've been stuck in the snow, stuck in the mud. I've run out of fuel and been hopelessly lost, but I have enjoyed every minute of it and wouldn't have given it up for anything!
