Retirement - Ah, to be Retired!

But what does that mean? Sit back with your feet up sipping Margaritas – the life of leisure. Not true!

There is a lot to be said about the saying “Use it or lose it!” And having deviated from a lifestyle we used to follow; I am learning the downfalls of such a change in direction.

Bottom line is that we should never give up doing those things that are good for us and keep us moving. Exercise, eating right, sleeping the right number of hours, and well you get the picture. Why am I saying that – well, because we have been retired now for some time and find ourselves slipping when it comes to those categories and are learning the hard way we mustn’t go that route.

Why did I start this post with that information? Well, this site is all about retirement and what we know or think about how it is supposed to be. I am here to tell you that – Guess what? – retirement is fun, but we mustn’t lose sight of continuing to do the things that keep us healthy and thus be able to enjoy our retirement for many years. In other words, do not become sedentary.

Enough said on that topic, now let’s get to the fun side of this post.
Below are a few of what I like to call “0ne-liners” that will get you smiling and hopefully come back for more.

Did you know that the word “listen” contains the same letters as the word “silent”.

How do “DO NOT WALK ON GRASS SIGNS” get there?

How do I set my laser printer on stun?

Do vegetarians eat animal crackers?

One more –
Why are they called apartments if they are stuck together?

Are you smiling? Good – more next post.

Let me end this post with a quote from Wayne Dyer who said:

“If you believe it will work out, you’ll see opportunities. If you believe it won’t, you will see obstacles.

Don’t create obstacles during your retirement, enjoy it but also keep doing the things (opportunities) that enabled you to get to retirement age. Not quite the analogy I was hoping for, but you get the picture.

Y’all take care now. Until next time.
