When I retired, I remained at my current house, located in Maryland. I have no plans to move.
While many of my friends have moved down south with hopes of living out their years in warmer weather, I for one, couldn't be happier.
My children are nearby, my community is still quaint and pleasant, and I can still shovel my driveway when snow hits. The only change we have made to our house thus far has been the move of the washer and dryer to the main floor instead of the basement. One less flight of stairs to take and figured we should switch that out while we were still young enough to do it.
We are able to live off our retirement and investment funds, unless we both live over 100 years.
