Retirement Hobby: Restoring a classic car

by Bob J.
(Massachusetts )

Being retired allows you to have time to do things that you may have never done, but have always wanted to do.

I personally have always loved cars and finally have had the time to buy a classic car and restore it with my sons.

I also spend a lot of time golfing in the spring with old co workers, as well as going to the gym with my family.

I have also started collecting old firefighter antiques.

Which Car?

Hey! I'm rebuilding (not restoring) my 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Sport Coupe. I bought it in 1999, 3 years before I retired from my first job.

What type of car are you restoring?

My favorite old cars are Studebakers, Nashes, Hudsons, Packards, Kaiser-Frazer, Willys, and Crosley.

Wendy: I live north of Detroit, Michigan - the car capital. This weekend is the Woodward Dream Cruise! They expected 40,000 cars there this weekend, Google it and I bet you'll find oodles out there!
