Vintage Sewing Machine Collecting

I have shared previously that my retirement hobby is quilting. This hobby has evolved into vintage sewing machine collecting.

I have always been sewing on a vintage Singer and a vintage Viking, and don't really know how I got involved in collecting more sewing machines, I just know that vintage sewing machines make me happy and I enjoy sewing on them. I now have about 6 and sewing on them all.

I have three quilting projects going on at the same time and rotate which machines I sew on. Great fun and makes me happy.

Sewing Machines

Hidge and Diane, have you joined the Vintage Sewing Machine group on Facebook? That's what got me hooked on "VSMs".

I have a Featherweight also. Love it. I started out with a 1957 Singer 401 which I inherited from my aunt. Already had a Viking 2840, then started collecting when I got interested on FB.

Glad I'm not the only "crazy" one either! My sewing machines make me happy.

Sewing makes me happy.

I just ran across this posting and thought that i am not the only crazy one...

I started sewing in september because I wanted to make a quilt. I now have 3 sewing machines one of them an antique singer featherweight machine that i just love.

Wendy: My friend has an awesome Quilt site with so many very detailed block instructions (and free).
