What to Consider Before becoming a Snowbird?

This is the first time my husband and I will be living in Fl for the winter months and I want to make sure we think of services we need to change or stop before going.

We will be keeping our home in VA. We know that we need to forward our mail but what other things should we consider doing before going to FL.

Just looking for some general tips.
